Der Verkaufserfolg der neuen Spielekonsole Xbox One hat Microsoft ein glänzendes zweites Geschäftsquartal (bis Ende Dezember) beschert. Der Umsatz des Konzerns stieg um 14 Prozent auf 24,5 Milliarden Dollar (17,9 Mrd. Euro). Der Gewinn legte im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum um drei Prozent auf 6,6 Milliarden Dollar zu. In Hinblick auf den Umsatz ist es ein Rekordquartal für Microsoft - und das, obwohl derzeit ein gewaltiger Umbruch stattfindet.
