Die Kaffeerestaurantkette Starbucks hat ihren Gewinn zu Jahresbeginn kräftig gesteigert. Doch schwächer als erwartetes Umsatzwachstum und ein verhaltener Ausblick sorgten für Enttäuschung an der Börse.

Im abgelaufenen Geschäftsquartal bis Ende März stieg der Überschuss verglichen mit dem Vorjahreswert um 16 Prozent auf 575 Millionen Dollar (509 Mio Euro), wie das Unternehmen gestern nach US-Börsenschluss mitteilte. Die Erlöse legten um neun Prozent zu auf 5,0 Milliarden Dollar.

Damit blieb der Umsatz deutlich unter den Erwartungen der Analysten. Zudem gab Starbucks, das die Anzahl seiner Filialen im Jahresvergleich um acht Prozent auf fast 24.000 Läden weltweit erhöhte, eine überraschend magere Prognose für das laufende Quartal ab. Als Gewinn pro Aktie stellt der Konzern zwischen 47 und 48 Cent in Aussicht - weniger als am Markt angenommen. Bei Anlegern kamen die Zahlen schlecht an. Die Aktie fiel nachbörslich um fünf Prozent.
