Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A)(NYSE: BRK.B) has a long history of outperformance under the leadership of legendary investor and CEO Warren Buffett. Earlier this year, Buffett announced he would step down from the CEO role at the end of the year, and Berkshire Hathaway stock has faced selling pressure.

Since May, Berkshire Hathaway stock has declined 10%. Over that same period, the S 500 has gone on to gain 15%. Given its recent underperformance, now may be a great time to scoop up Berkshire Hathaway stock. Here's why.
