Rund zwei Drittel der für die Verpackung verwendeten Rohstoffe stammen aus Kunststoffabfällen. Die Kooperationspartner wollen damit einen Beitrag leisten, um Abfallmengen zu verringern und wertvolle Ressourcen zu schonen.
Die Unterfolie und Oberfolie der Verpackung bestehen jeweils aus mehreren Schichten verschiedener Polymere, und werden beim Folienproduzenten Südpack gefertigt. BASF liefert das dafür benötigte Polyamid, Sabic liefert das Polyethylen.
