Amazon mit kräftigem Gewinnanstieg - Aktie hebt nachbörslich ab
SEATTLE (dpa-AFX) - Der weltgrößte Online-Händler Amazon hat zum Jahresende dank eines hohen Sondererlöses einen kräftigen Gewinnsprung verbucht. Im Schlussquartal legte der Überschuss im Jahresvergleich um fast das Doppelte auf 14,3 Milliarden Dollar (12,5 Mrd Euro) zu, wie Amazon am Donnerstag nach US-Börsenschluss mitteilte. Der Umsatz wuchs um neun Prozent auf 137,4 Milliarden Dollar zu.
Grund für den starken Gewinnanstieg war vor allem Amazons Beteiligung am Elektroautobauer Rivian , durch die der Konzern bei dessen Börsengang im November stark profitierte. Amazons Betriebsergebnis ging um fast die Hälfte auf 3,5 Milliarden Dollar zurück. Die Aktie schoss nachbörslich zunächst dennoch um über 15 Prozent nach oben.
Amazon hatte Anleger vor drei Monaten bereits vor milliardenschweren Zusatzausgaben aufgrund von höheren Löhnen, weltweiten Problemen in der Lieferkette und gestiegenen Frachtkosten gewarnt und auf relative maue Zahlen eingestellt. Für das laufende Vierteljahr rechnet das Unternehmen mit einem Umsatzwachstum zwischen drei und acht Prozent.
Der Konzern kündigte zudem an, in den USA erstmals seit 2018 die Preise für seinen "Prime"-Dienst zu erhöhen, der unter anderem Zugang zu kostenlosem Versand und Streaming-Diensten bietet.
