Die Aktie schwankt sehr stark und reagiert besonders stark auf negative wie positive Neuigkeiten. Nachrichten, wonach Infineon für die Sparte Automotive, Industrial & Multimarket (AIM) ein etwas niedrigeres operatives Ergebnis als im letzten Geschäftsjahr erwartet, dürften dagegen kaum für die Kursverluste verantwortlich sein. Neu sei allerdings, dass Infineon erstmals kein Margen-Ziel, sondern absolute Werte für den Gewinn in Aussicht stellt. Angesichts der schwachen Wertentwicklung der Infineon-Titel versuchten viele professionelle Investoren nun, ihr Portfolio um die Papiere des Halbleiterkonzerns zu bereinigen. Die Meldung, dass Infineon ohne die Speicherchip-Tochter Qimonda für das Geschäftsjahr 2007/08 bestenfalls mit einem zweistelligen Umsatzwachstum rechnet, sei am Markt hingegen bekannt.
