Der wichtigste Geschäftsbereich des Konzerns ist der Spielemarkt (Gaming). NVIDIA beziffert seinen Marktanteil bei Grafikprozessoren für Spielkonsolen auf rund 80 Prozent. Im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr, das am 31. Januar 2016 endete, legte der Umsatz in diesem Segment um 36 Prozent auf 2,06 Milliarden US-Dollar zu. Das entspricht einem Umsatzanteil von etwa 44 Prozent. Geht es nach NVIDIA, wird der Spielemarkt auch in Zukunft für das Unternehmenswachstum eine zentrale Rolle spielen. Langfristig sieht das Management in diesem Bereich ein Umsatzpotenzial von bis zu 20 Milliarden US-Dollar im Jahr. Der Optimismus kommt nicht von ungefähr.
