Seitdem Deutschland, Europas größter Strommarkt, den Ausstieg aus der Atomkraft und den Ausbaus von Erneuerbaren beschlossen hat, bestimmt die Energiewende den Diskurs. Für Wirtschaft und Investoren ist indes nur eines interessant: Welcher Stromkonzern hat sich am besten auf die neuen Marktbedingungen angepasst? Wer wird in Zukunft am rentabelsten Strom verkaufen?

Die internationale Non-Profit-Organisation Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) hat sich diesen Fragen gewidmet. Auf Basis von Daten aus 2013, die im Auftrag von institutionellen Anlegern einmal jährlich erhoben werden (das WirtschaftsBatt berichtete), hat CDP 13 europäische Energieversorger analysiert und ein Ranking erstellt. Die betreffenden Unternehmen zeichnen für 80 Prozent der Stromproduktion Europas verantwortlich.

Darunter befindet sich auch Österreichs größter Stromkonzern Verbund, der mit einem Gesamtscore von 4,24 den dritten Platz erreichen konnte. Vor den Österreichern lag nur die britische Centrica mit 2,55 und die spanische Iberdrola mit 2,15 Punkten.
