Erholung
Bei den Stahlkochern in Europa keimt wieder Hoffnung auf. Mit dem Jahreswechsel sollte der mehrmonatige Abschwung in der Branche seinen Tiefpunkt erreicht haben. Das sagt Voestalpine-Chef Wolfgang Eder, der auch Präsident der europäischen Stahlvereinigung Eurofer ist. Mit Beginn des ersten Quartals sei bereits eine Erholung der Nachfrage spürbar geworden, außerdem gebe es erste Preiserhöhungen. Diese Marktbelebung sollte "zumindest bis zum Sommer anhalten", so Eder.
Gewinnprognose unverändert
Auf Konzernebene stieg das operative Ergebnis (Ebit) in den ersten drei Quartalen des Geschäftsjahres 2011/12 - das sind die Monate von April bis Ende Dezember - gegenüber der Vorjahresperiode um 2,8 Prozent auf 676,4 Millionen Euro. Beim Umsatz wies die Voestalpine ein stärkeres Plus von 11,9 Prozent auf 8,88 Milliarden Euro aus, wie sie am Mittwoch in einer Aussendung mitteilte.
Für das Gesamtjahr prognostiziert Konzernboss Eder zwar einen Rekordumsatz, aber nach wie vor ein etwas schwächeres Ebit. Für das laufende vierte Geschäftsquartal (bis Ende März) ist er zuversichtlich, das Ergebnis gegenüber dem dritten Quartal verbessern zu können.
