Die Continental AG (kurz Conti) zählt weltweit zu den fünf größten Zulieferern der Automobilindustrie, für die der Konzern unzählige Komponenten und Module entwickelt und fertigt. Der Konzern gliedert sein Geschäft seit dem 2007 erfolgten Zukauf von Siemens VDO Automotive in die zwei Segmente Automotive Group und Rubber Group, die jeweils in drei Abteilungen (divisions) unterteilt sind. Automotive Group ist in die Bereiche Chassis & Safety, Powertrain und Interior untergliedert. Die Rubber Group umfasst die Abteilungen Pkw-Reifen, Nutzfahrzeug-Reifen und ContiTech. Mit eigenen Entwicklungszentren in Europa, den USA und Asien arbeitet Conti vor Ort an den dort entwickelten Fahrzeugplattformen mit, der Grundlage für mehrere Modelle. In den Geschäftsfeldern Pkw- und Nutzfahrzeug-Reifen stützt sich das Unternehmen hauptsächlich auf die Marken Conti und General Tire. Der Konzern ist mit fast 200 Standorten in 46 Ländern präsent.
