Der kanadische Energieversorger Fortis Inc. erhöht seine Quartalsdividende um 5,9 Prozent auf 45 kanadische Cents. Der Konzern aus St. John´s in Neufundland hebt damit das 45. Jahr in Folge die Ausschüttung an.
Auf das Jahr hochgerechnet werden künftig 1,90 CAD an die Aktionäre ausgeschüttet. Die aktuelle Dividendenrendite liegt beim derzeitigen Aktienkurs von 41,14 CAD (Stand: 15. Oktober 2018) bei 4,61 Prozent. Die Auszahlung der nächsten Dividende erfolgt am 1. Dezember 2018 (Record date: 20. November 2018). Bis zum Jahr 2023 wird ein jährlicher Anstieg bei der Dividende in Höhe von rund 6 Prozent angestrebt, wie am Montag
weiter mitgeteilt wurde.
Fortis hat über drei Millionen Gas- und Elektrizitätskunden in Kanada, USA und der Karibik und erwirtschaftete im Jahr 2017 8,3 Milliarden CAD an Umsatz (Vorjahr: 6,84 Milliarden CAD). Es werden 8.500 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt.
Seit Jahresanfang 2018 liegt die Aktie an der Börse in Toronto derzeit mit 10,78 Prozent im Minus und weist aktuell eine Marktkapitalisierung von 17,65 Mrd. CAD auf (Stand: 15. Oktober 2018).
