Der kanadische Energieversorger Fortis erhöht seine Quartalsdividende um 2,5 kanadische Cents oder 6,7 Prozent auf 40 kanadische Cents. Der Konzern aus St. John´s in Neufundland hebt damit das 43. Jahr in Folge die Ausschüttung an.
Dies ist Rekord für ein an der kanadischen Börse notiertes Unternehmen. Auf das Jahr hochgerechnet werden künftig 1,60 CAD an die Aktionäre ausgeschüttet. Die aktuelle Dividendenrendite liegt beim derzeitigen Aktienkurs von 42,30 CAD (Stand: 27. September 2016) bei 3,78 Prozent. Die Auszahlung der nächsten Dividende erfolgt am 1. Dezember 2016 (Record date: 8. November 2016). Bis zum Jahr 2021 wird ein jährlicher Anstieg bei der Dividende in Höhe von 6 Prozent angestrebt, wie am Dienstag mitgeteilt wurde.
Fortis hat über drei Millionen Gas- und Elektrizitätskunden in Kanada, USA und der Karibik und erwirtschaftete im Jahr 2015 6,7 Milliarden CAD an Umsatz.
