ABEO continues its international expansion by acquiring Netherlands-based sports equipment specialist Bosan NV

ABEO, a world leader in sports and leisure equipment, announces the acquisition of the entire share capital of Bosan NV, a company specialized in the manufacture and sale of sports equipment.

A family business based in the Netherlands, Bosan NV has 75 employees and in 2017 generated annual revenue of around €11m with an EBITDA margin of 12%. Primarily focused on the development, manufacture and sale of innovative sports equipment and facilities, the company has its own production unit with an industrial and logistics area of 8,500m², a subsidiary in Belgium and a sales network for the Benelux region.

Richard and Marieke Ten Bos, the management team behind Bosan, will work with ABEO for as long as is necessary to ensure the company's integration within the Group.

This transaction is in line with ABEO's strategic plan combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions in order to add to the brand portfolio, penetrate new markets more effectively and consolidate more mature markets.

ABEO Group CEO Olivier Estèves said: “Through the Bosan acquisition, we are seizing a fantastic opportunity to consolidate our position on the Benelux market. This acquisition, which is facilitated by a shared corporate culture, boosts our capacity to grow our market share and thus achieve our 2020 target of €300m in revenue.”

Richard and Marieke Ten Bos, Bosan's executive managers, stated: “We are delighted with this merger, which will ensure the future of Bosan for both customers and employees. This transaction carried out with a Group of ABEO's stature will also enable Bosan to expand into new markets.”

Bosan NV will be integrated into the Sports division and consolidated from 1^st March 2018.
