MarketWatch is set to host its Best New Ideas Money Festival on Sept. 21 and 22. The event will be open to in-person attendees at Center415 in New York City or online.

Two of the headliners at this year’s event will be the renowned activist investor Carl Icahn and the legendary Ray Dalio of Bridgewater. During their presentations, Icahn and Dalio will reveal how they made their billions and where they’re putting their money to work right now.

Well-known fund manager Jennifer Grancio of relative newcomer Engine No. 1 will also speak at the conference. Founded in December 2020, the fund made a name for itself through its campaign against energy giant Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:XOM).
Engine No. 1 ended up winning four seats on the company's board of directors even though it only owned 0.02% of its shares. As of the end of 2021, the impact-focused firm had $430 million in assets under management.
Other speakers include Sallie Krawcheck, co-founder and CEO of women-focused robo-advisor Ellevest, Charles Schwab President Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz, WndrCo co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg, Harlin Singh of Citi Global Wealth Investments, and Roy Swan of Mission Investments and the Ford Foundation.
Several other fund managers will also speak at the conference, including Michael Batnick and Josh Brown of Ritholtz Wealth Management, Rupal Bhansali of Ariel Global, Nancy Davis of Quadratic Capital Management, Lori Keith of Parnassus Investments, Jim Roppel of Roppel Capital Management, and venture capitalist Deena Shakir of Lux Capital.
Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy and Estaban Ordano of the Decentraland metaverse are also scheduled to speak.
