The Dow Jones Industrial Average was the best-performing of the three major indexes in 2022, but 2023 hasn't been as kind to the blue chip index.

The regional banking crisis has hit the Dow hard, and the rebound in tech stocks has also left it lagging behind the S 500 and Nasdaq Composite, which have more exposure to the tech sector.
