Here's What Warren Buffett Is Doing to Prepare for a Recession -- Should You Follow His Lead?


CNBC's Becky Quick asked Warren Buffett a few weeks ago if he sided more with the view that a recession is now more likely or the more optimistic take that the U.S. economy remains strong. He responded that many of Berkshire Hathaway's (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B) businesses are already experiencing increased challenges.

To be sure, Buffett didn't predict a recession is on the way. He noted that in his 58 years at Berkshire's helm, he has "never opined an economic forecast of any use to the company." Still, Buffett seems to believe that an economic downturn could be on the way. Here's what he's doing to prepare for a recession.
