inVentiv Health Inc. reported third-quarter adjusted operating income of $31.7 million, or 49 cents a share, topping the mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial of 44 cents a share. Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 29% to $254.9 million, above Wall Street's $249.4 million estimate. A year earlier, the Somerset, N.J.-based provider of value-added services to the pharmaceuticals and life sciences industries posted revenue of $197.8 million.
