The company reported fourth quarter net income of $229.6 million, or $1.43 per share, compared to net income of $103.2 million, or $0.60 per share, in the year ago quarter. Excluding certain items, net income for the fourth quarter would have been $123.0 million, or $0.77 per share, compared to net income of $115.1 million, or $0.67 per share, in the year ago quarter. Consolidated revenues for the quarter were $831.4 million, up 16.5% from $713.92 million in the year ago quarter. Analysts surveyed by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to report earnings of $0.67 per share on revenues of $801.72 million for the quarter.
