Thursday was an up and down day on Wall Street, but eventually, most stock market benchmarks turned higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) wasn't quite able to recover all of its lost ground, but it still finished close to unchanged, and the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) moved to a new all-time record. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) also participated in the rally.
