Shares of electric semitruck maker Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA) were sharply higher on Thursday morning. Traders appeared to be reacting to a tweet from the company late Wednesday in which it noted that it had made its first customer delivery.

As of 10:30 a.m. ET, Nikola's shares were up about 12.6% from Wednesday's closing price.
