Beyond Meat was founded in 2009, while its main rival Impossible Foods was founded in 2011. Beyond launched its first plant-based meat products in 2012, while Impossible launched its first product in 2016. Everyone else, including meatpacking giant Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN), jumped on the bandwagon much later.
