Shares of Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ: GILD) were trading 4.8% higher as of 3:02 p.m. EST on Friday. The gain came after the company announced its fourth-quarter results following the market close on Thursday.

Gilead easily topped the consensus Wall Street earnings estimate for the fourth quarter. However, investors were probably even more upbeat about the company's 2021 guidance.
