Investors were hardly amused by AMC Entertainment Holdings's (NYSE: AMC) stock performance on the first trading day of the week. The major cinema company saw its share price shrivel by more than 4%, following a relatively weak holiday weekend.

In the movie exhibition business, weekends are crucial, as they are when many people have the time and inclination to go to cinemas. Holiday weekends are even more crucial, given the extra time those folks have to take in a flick.
