Warren Buffett doesn't use Berkshire Hathaway's (NYSE: BRK.A)(NYSE: BRK.B) capital to invest in up-and-coming technologies often, so when he does, it is certainly worth a closer look. In the exciting, but crowded, electric vehicle space, Buffett invested in a Chinese electric vehicle company called BYD (OTC: BYDD.F) several years ago, and still holds the multi-billion dollar position in Berkshire's portfolio today.
