Chinese tech giant Tencent (NASDAQOTH: TCEHY) recently became the first Asian tech company to top a $500 billion valuation. The stock recently hit a record high of 439.6 Hong Kong dollars, giving it a market cap of 4.17 trillion ($534.5 billion).

That briefly made Tencent more valuable than Facebook (NASDAQ: FB), going by market cap. Tencent's market cap subsequently retreated, but the stock's 120% rally this year probably won't end anytime soon. Let's take a closer look at Tencent to see if it's a worthy long-term investment.
