How Big Auto Is Disrupting Tesla's Superchargers

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) fans, take note: The big automakers have caught on to the advantages of Tesla's Supercharger network, and they've begun building their own.

A new company called Ionity said that it has begun building a network of high-speed electric-vehicle charging stations in Europe. Lots of different companies are trying to build electric-vehicle charging stations, but Ionity is a big deal: It's a joint venture owned by (and funded by) four of Europe's biggest-selling automakers, and it plans to open about 400 high-speed recharging stations over the next three years.
