Advances for the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) helped them set new records, but declines for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) showed the crosscurrents in the market.
