Glaubt man den Berechnungen der Marktforschungsfirma Strategy Analytics hat Apple allein im zweiten Quartal dieses Jahres 5,7 Millionen Computer-Uhren verkauft, 50 Prozent mehr als im gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres. Der Anteil von Apple am Smartwatch-Markt sei damit von 44,4 Prozent auf 46,4 Prozent gestiegen.
Einen Rückgang verbuchte der drittgrößte Anbieter, Fitbit. Wurden im Vorjahresquartal noch 1,3 Millionen Fitbit-Smartwatches verkauft, waren es im zweiten Quartal 2018 1,2 Millionen. Das entspricht einem Marktanteil von 9,8 Prozent.
