Die de facto Freigabe ihrer Corona Pille an die armen Länder der Welt ist ein genialer Schachzug
Auf den ersten Blick muss man um die Umsätze fürchten, aber das ist extrem kurz gedacht.
Allein könnte Pfizer ohnehin nicht die ganze Welt sofort versorgen, Lizenzen können in den jeweiligen Märkten in der Pandemiesituation ohnehin auch ausgesetzt werden...nicht nur etwa in Indien
Pfizer wird zum Good Guy, sie müssen nicht viel investieren ( das tun vor Ort die Lizenznehmer), sie dominieren den Supply (wenn Merck es ihnen nicht nachtut) und gewinnen somit Marktanteile auch für die Zukunft
Pfizer schafft sich damit Wohlwollen bei den Verantwortlichen in jenen Märkten und wird über die PR Effekte andere Produkte jetzt und in Zukunft wesentlich leichter absetzen. Sie werden nicht viel Gewinn verlieren ( der wird ohnehin in den Industrienationen gemacht) und gewinnen jede Menge an Goodwill, Marktpräsenz und Image für der Zukunft.
