KION integriert die indische Tochtergesellschaft Voltas Material Handling stärker in den Konzern. Der Anbieter von Gabelstapler- und Lagertechnik soll zukünftig als KION India am Markt aktiv sein. Die Gesellschaft wurde zunächst als Joint Venture betrieben, gehört seit November 2012 allerdings komplett zum SDAX-notierten Konzern.
„Wir werden KION India in den kommenden Jahren weiter ausbauen und dabei das Potenzial dieses noch relativ kleinen Marktes voll erschließen“, kündigt zudem Konzernchef Gordon Riske am Donnerstag an. Indien sei als Teil der BRIC-Staatengruppe „ein wichtiger Faktor für unser Wachstum und die Umsetzung unserer KION Group Strategie 2020“, so Riske.
