MGM Resorts International figure parmi les principaux exploitants mondiaux de casinos-hôtels. A fin 2017, le groupe détient 15 hôtels-casinos implantés aux Etats-Unis (14 ; enseignes Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor, Excalibur, New York-New York, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus Las Vegas, etc.) et en Chine (MGM Macau). En outre, le groupe détient 50% de CityCenter et 50% de Grand Victoria. Le CA (avant éliminations intragroupe) par activité se répartit comme suit :
- exploitation de casinos (51,2%) : 27 122 machines à sous et 1 867 tables de jeux exploitées à fin 2017 ;
- hôtellerie (18,4%) : exploitation de 47 869 chambres (dont 41 396 aux Etats-Unis) ;
- restauration (15,3%) ;
- exploitation de sites de loisirs (4,6%) ;
- autres (10,5%) : notamment exploitation de magasins.
