Constellation Brands ist einer der weltweit größten Anbieter von alkolholischen Getränken. Das Unternehmen ist Weltmarktführer bei Wein und zudem der größte Alkoholproduzent in den USA. Die bekannteste Marke ist sicherlich Corona.
Um sich breiter aufzustellen, hatte der Konzern sich interessanterweise bereits im Oktober 2017 mit 10 % am Cannabisproduzenten Canopy Growth beteiligt. Wie heute bekannt wurde, wurde diese Beteiligung nun auf 38 % aufgestockt. Constellation Brands
lässt sich das Ganze 5 Mrd. CAD bzw. rund 4 Mrd. USD kosten. Der Deal kommt am Markt überhaupt nicht gut an. Der hohe Preis für das Aktienpaket schreckt viele Investoren ab. Während Aktionäre von Canopy Growth sich über einen Kurssprung von über 30 % freuen, geht die Aktie von Constellation Brands um über 8 % in die Knie.
