Bei der Brennstoffzelle im Auto treffen Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff an einer Elektrolytmembran aufeinander und werden in einem chemischen Prozess zu Wasser. Bei dieser Reaktion wird die Energie, die im Wasserstoff gespeichert ist, als Strom freigegeben. Dieser lässt sich entweder in einer Batterie speichern oder treibt direkt einen Elektromotor an.

Das Geschäft des Brennstoffzellen-Anbieters laufe sehr gut und nun wolle Plug Power auch in den Kleintransporter-Markt einsteigen. Und die Plug Power-Aktie sei zuletzt auf ein Dreijahreshoch gestiegen. Eine positive Analystenstudie habe das Papier des US-Unternehmens weiter nach oben getrieben. Es sei durchaus möglich, dass die Plug Power-Aktie wieder zweistellig notiere.
