Der seit dem 7. Dezember über die niederländische Holdinggesellschaft Steinhoff International an der Frankfurter Börse notierte südafrikanische Steinhoff-Konzern wird in den Index der mittelgroßen Werte (MDAX) aufgenommen. Dies teilte die Frankfurter Börse am Abend des
3. März mit. Die Umsetzung der Änderungen im Aktienindex erfolgt zum 21. März. Neben Steinhoff soll auch das Immobilienunternehmen Alstria Office in den MDAX aufsteigen; im Gegenzug werden der Stahlhändler Klöckner & Co. und der Automobilzulieferer ElringKlinger in den SDAX zurückgestuft.
Nach Einschätzung verschiedener Finanzportale hat die Aktie von Steinhoff im Hinblick auf den am Streubesitz orientierten Börsenwert von knapp 10 Mrd € sogar das Potenzial, um in den DAX
aufzusteigen. Allerdings hat Steinhoff seinen wirtschaftlichen Sitz in Johannesburg und erzielt dort den Großteil des Börsenumsatzes, was einer DAX-Mitgliedschaft entgegensteht.
