Der börsennotierte steirische Anlagenbauer Andritz hat als Teil eines Konsortiums mit GE einen Auftrag für die Lieferung der elektromechanischen Ausrüstung für das weltweit erste Gezeiten-Lagunen-Wasserkraftwerksprojekt in Wales erhalten. Das Ausschreibungsvolumen für das Konsortium betrage rund 400 Millionen Euro, davon entfallen auf Andritz Hydro etwa 250 Millionen Euro, teilte Andritz am Dienstag mit.
Der Start des kommerziellen Betriebs des Gezeiten-Kraftwerkes ist für 2019 geplant. Die Wertschöpfung soll hauptsächlich in Großbritannien stattfinden. Auftraggeber ist die Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay plc.
Das Gezeitenkraftwerk - das durch Flut und Ebbe angetrieben wird - soll mit einer installierten Leistung von 20 Megawatt Strom für 155.000 Haushalte liefern.
