Die Auftragseingänge im Maschinenbau steigen wieder stark an. Davon sollte DUERR als einer der führenden Maschinen und Anlagenbauer am Weltmarkt profitieren. Das Wirtschaftswachstum wird von der Geschäftsleitung in China als weiterhin stabil eingeschätzt, da Duerr fast die Hälfte seiner Belegschaft in China beschäftigt. Desweiteren sollte die Übernahme des Holzmaschinenbauers Homag mit 5100 Mitarbeitern die Geschäftsentwicklung weiter vorantreiben.
