... der Kauf der Handy-Sparte Motorola Mobility von Google durch Lenovo, was wohl nicht weniger als den Generalangriff auf den westlichen Smartphonemarkt bedeutet. Für 2,91 Mrd $ scheint Lenovo damit ein Schnäppchen gemacht zu haben - immerhin legte Google 2012 noch 12,5 Mrd $ auf den Tisch -, jedoch behält Google die meisten Patente. Um die geht es den Chinesen aber nicht, davon haben sie selbst genug. Vielmehr soll der vor allem in den USA immer noch wohlklingende Name Motorola als Türöffner dienen - könnte klappen, auf jeden Fall wird es den beiden "Platzhirschen" Apple und Samsung überhaupt nicht schmecken. Finanziell ist der Kauf trotzdem ein ganz schöner Brocken für Lenovo, auch im Hinblick auf die miserablen Q3-Zahlen von Motorola: 248 Mio $ Verlust, Umsatzrückgang um 36 %. Bleibt also abzuwarten, was die Kameraden daraus machen. Unterm Strich denke ich, dass Lenovo langfristig eine gute Chance hat, sich in dem Sektor zu etablieren, nicht zuletzt gestützt durch die stark forcierte chinesische wirtschaftliche Expansionspolitik.
