Hohes Nutzerwachstum ist vorerst wichtiger als Gewinn.
Es wurden gestern Quartalszahlen verkündet, die den Kurs von Twitter prompt in den tiefsten Keller schickten. Der Verlust ist vielen zu hoch, der Ausblick mau.
Aber das Nutzerwachstum als wesentliche Kenngröße ist mehr als ordentlich. Ich denke, mit 284 Mio. aktiven Nutzern muss mittelfristig einfach Geld zu verdienen sein. Allein im letzten Quartal kamen immerhin 13 Mio. dazu. Der Verlust ist zugegeben groß. Ich hoffe mal, die haben kräftig in neue Server investiert.
Das größte Potential dürfte nämlich in der Internationalisierung von Twitter liegen. Bisher agiert man ja überwiegend im Heimatland. Erst 34% der Erlöse stammen aus der Welt außerhalb der USA. Und ich habe mal irgendwo gehört, dass dies nicht den geographischen und bevölkerungsverteilungstechnischen Proportionen entspricht. Zur Prüfung werde ich aber nochmal in meinen Schulatlas gucken.
