Da Glencore den Erlös von elf Milliarden Dollar aus dem Börsengang verwenden will, um andere Rohstoffkonzerne zu kaufen, kommt der Crash - rund ein Drittel des Marktwertes - der Unternehmensführung gerade Recht. „Heute sehen wir es so, dass es da billige Möglichkeiten gibt“, sagt Glasenberg (Firmenchef). So hat Glencore in dieser Woche ein 1,07 Milliarden Dollar schweres Übernahmeangebot für Minara Resources abgegeben, einen Konzern, der Nickelerze in Australien abbaut. Weitere Akquisitionen könnten in dernahen Zukunft folgen.
