Geht man von stark steigenden Goldpreisen aus, sind die Unternehmen mit hohen Produktionskosten zu bevorzugen. In Südafrika muss das Gold meist aus großer Tiefe gefördert werden. Die dort ansässigen Minen haben daher in der Regel hohe Produktionskosten. Bei der DRDGold wird ein weiter steigender Goldpreis die Gewinne prozentual gesehen deutlich erhöhen.
