... sondern wann die 3-D-Druckertechnologie nicht nur in der Industrie groß-, sondern auch im privaten Bereich flächendeckend Fuß fasst. In vielen Sektoren wie Architektur, Bauwesen, Industriedesign, Automobil, Luft- und Raumfahrt, Militär, Ingenieurwesen, Dental- und Medizinprodukte, Biotech, Mode, Schuhe, Schmuck, Brillen, Bildung etc hat sie sich bereits etabliert (wenn auch noch in den Kinderschuhen) - aber mit ungeheuerem Potential. Das Volumen der Technologie betrug 2012 rund 2,2 Mrd $, eine Steigerung gegenüber des Vorjahres um 29 %, und Wholers associates traut ihr bis 2017 offensichtlich 6 Mrd $ zu. Steil bergauf könnte es nächstes Jahr gehen, wenn Patente auslaufen, die das "Laser-sintern" betreffen - diese ermöglicht den Druck von Fertigprodukten aus Metall, Keramik und Kunststoffen. Die Chance werden sich die Marktführer Stratasys sowie 3D sicher nicht entgehen lassen und sich entsprechend positionieren.
