Für das vergangene dritte Fiskalquartal 2011 meldet Finisar (Nasdaq: FNSR, WKN: A0YA7Q) zunächst noch einen Umsatzsprung auf 263,0 Mio. US-Dollar, ein Zuwachs von 57,6 Prozent gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Der Nettogewinn kletterte im vergangenen Quartal auf 18,82 Mio. US-Dollar, nach 5,62 Mio. Dollar im Jahr vorher. Dabei konnte Finisar eine operative Gewinnmarge (Non-GAAP) von 17,0 Prozent erzielen.
Umgerechnet konnte Finisar im jüngsten Quartal einen Nettogewinn von 47 US-Cent je Aktie erwirtschaften und damit zunächst die Analystenerwartungen erfüllen, die im Vorfeld mit einem Plus von 47 US-Cent je Aktie gerechnet hatten.
Der Absturz erfolgte auf Grund einer schlechten zukunftsgerichteten Aussage, dass die Umsätze um 10-15% sinken werden. Der Abschlag von 33% ist dagegen m.E. zu hoch
