Deutlicher Ergebnisanstieg im ersten Quartal, weiter anziehender Goldpreis, Nettogewinn im Berichtszeitraum bei 229,5 Mio. Dollar bzw. 32 Cents je Aktie, nach einem Nettogewinn von 82,8 Mio. Dollar bzw. 12 Cents je Aktie im Vorjahreszeitraum. Der um Einmaleffekte bereinigte Gewinn je Aktie wurde mit 23 Cents beziffert. Beim Gesamtumsatz verbuchte Goldcorp einen Anstieg von 474,2 Mio. Dollar im Vorjahresquartal auf 626,7 Mio. Dollar. Dabei wurden insgesamt 517.800 Unzen Gold zu einem Durchschnittskurs von 932 Dollar je Unze abgesetzt. Analysten hatten zuvor ein EPS von 21 Cents sowie einen Umsatz von 673,2 Mio. Dollar erwartet.
