er Spezialchemiekonzern Lanxess kauft das Materialschutz-Geschäft der schweizerischen Syngenta und steigt damit nach eigenen Angaben vom Dienstag zu einem der führenden Anbieter von Bioziden zum Schutz von Baumaterialien auf. Der Abschluss der Transaktion, die den Fokus auf den Megatrend Urbanisierung unterstreiche, sei für April geplant. Zum Kaufpreis, der aus dem Barmittelbestand gezahlt werde, machte der Leverkusener MDAX-Konzern keine Angaben.
Die Lanxess AG erhalte Zugang zu einer breiten Palette von Wirkstoffen für Fungizide und Insektizide sowie Anwendungstechnologien im Bereich Baumaterialien. 2010 setzte Syngenta im Materialschutz-Geschäft rund 19 Mio EUR um, davon etwa 90% in Europa und Nordamerika. Lanxess kommt in ihrer Sparte Material Protection Products (MPP) auf weniger als 200 Mio EUR jährlich.
Im Zuge der Übernahme, bei der Mitarbeiter und Anlagevermögen außen vor bleiben, sei auch eine langfristige strategische Partnerschaft vereinbart worden. Lanxess erhalte dabei Zugang zu künftig von Syngenta entwickelten Wirkstoffen und Technologien für den Einsatz im Bereich Materialschutz.
