OL GROUPE : FERLAND MENDY JOINS OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS

Olympique Lyonnais has acquired defender Ferland Mendy from Le Havre for €5 million plus incentives of up to €1 million and an earn-out of 10% on the capital gain on any future transfer.

Ferland Mendy, 22, has signed a five-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais, i.e. until 30 June 2022.

Ferland was trained at PSG, then began his professional career at Le Havre, where he became one of the major components of the team's defence. Selected for the Ligue 2 “all-star” team last season, Ferland is considered one of the most promising French left-backs, and numerous French and international clubs have shown interest in him.

Olympique Lyonnais is very pleased to welcome Ferland Mendy, who along with Fernando Marçal will strengthen the squad's defensive sector. On the eve of the new season, their arrival and that of Bertrand Traoré will help the club achieve its ambitious goals.
