Stock markets were mixed on Monday as investors tried to chart a course for the beginning of the second quarter of 2023. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) suffered a modest loss on the day, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) moved sharply higher, leaving the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) stuck in the middle.
