Why Wayfair's Shares Are Surging Today
Shares of online furniture and home-goods retailer Wayfair (NYSE: W) were higher on Monday afternoon, after the company said that its acting chief technology officer will take the job permanently.
As of 3:15 p.m. EDT today, Wayfair's shares were up about 10.8% from Friday's closing price.
In a statement on Monday morning, Wayfair said that Jim Miller, the Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) veteran and Wayfair board member who had been serving as its interim technology chief since August, will take the role on a permanent basis.
