Why Signature Bank Stock Jumped 14.3% in August


Signature Bank (NASDAQ: SBNY) has been on a roll. The bank stock had another great month in August, returning 14.3%, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. The New York-based private client bank beat the S&P 500, which gained 2.9% in August.

Signature Bank's stock price is up 92% year to date (YTD) as of Sept. 3, trading at about $260 per share. It is obliterating the performance of the average bank stock, which is up 29% YTD, and the S&P 500, up 21% as of Sept. 3.
