Why Nordstrom Stock Surged 16% in September
Shares of Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) gained 16.2% last month, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. It's been a rough year for the department store, with the stock cut nearly in half over the last year. After a turbulent August, which saw trade tensions heat up between the U.S. and China, investors bid the stock higher on hopes that the company can weather the potential impact of tariffs.
It certainly helped that the stock trades at a very low earnings multiple, which means it could be undervalued.
