Shares of BioNTech (NASDAQ: BNTX) were jumping 5.5% higher as of 3:05 p.m. EDT on Thursday. The gain came after the company and its big partner, Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), announced efficacy of 95.6% for a 30-microgram booster dose of their COVID-19 vaccine in a late-stage study.

BioNTech's and Pfizer's results could increase demand for their COVID-19 vaccine booster. That's especially the case now that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized mix-and-match boosters.
